Born and raised in Helena, Montana, Gordon has always had a creative spirit. He spent years promoting music before deciding it was time for a change - one that would eventually lead him to launch EOS Energy, a clean, Montana-made energy drink. 

"I've always loved creating drinks," Gordon shared. "Even when I was a kid, I was mixing things up just for fun." As a longtime caffeine lover, Gordon saw a gap in the market: too many energy drinks were packed with synthetic ingredients, sugar, and artificial flavors. Even the ones marketed as "clean" often came with a catch - whether it was hidden sugars, high cholesterol, or synthetic caffeine that led to a crash. "You can really feel the difference," he said. "With EOS, I don't crash. I feel focused and steady, and that's what I wanted - something that actually works and makes you feel good." He wanted something different-something truly clean. 

So, he got to work.

With no background in wellness, food science, or entrepreneurship, Gordon started from scratch. "It was a ton of research and eventually I took a trip to California to meet with food scientists. I wanted to make something I could actually feel good about drinking." 

The result was EOS Energy: a crisp, zero-sugar energy drink made with natural ingredients and 150mg of clean caffeine from green tea. It's naturally sweetened with monk fruit and stevia and completely explained. "That was non-negotiable."

Today, EOS is the only local energy drink we carry at the Co-op! Gordon is proud to keep production based in Helena, and he runs the business solo.

The name EOS comes from the Greek Goddess of Dawn, and for Gordon, the symbolism is personal. "It just felt badass. EOS represents the power of a new day - fresh energy and clarity. That's exactly what I wanted this drink to bring to people."

Montana's lifestyle and landscape have played a huge role in shaping the brand. Gordon loves hiking, going to the lake, and catching live music whenever he can. He built EOS for people like him - active, curious, and looking for something real. "I care about what I put in my body, and I want others to feel the same way. Transparency matters." 

It took a lot of trial and error to perfect the formula. "I was shocked by how much a difference a tiny change can make in flavor," he said. But he stuck to his values: no junk, no crash. Just clean, functional energy that leaves you feeling good. 

When asked what it means to build a product here in Montana, Gordon didn't hesitate: 

"This is my home. I'm so proud to have created something I can share with my community." 

What's next? He hopes to get EOS into more local stores, create some new flavors, and keep growing the brand right here in the Big Sky Country.
