We’re excited to welcome Josh Chance of Chance Farm to our next gather & GROW Speaker Series on March 26th from 6:30–7:30 PM in the Co-op West Main Training Room – free admission!

Based in the Gallatin Valley, Josh is the farmer and owner of Chance Farm, which he founded in 2018 after years of farming across Colorado, Vermont, and Texas. His journey into agriculture began with a permaculture design course in Boulder, sparking a deep passion for local food systems and sustainable growing. Today, Josh focuses on producing fresh, high-quality vegetables while building meaningful connections with the community he grows for.

What to Expect

This gather & GROW workshop, Farming in the Gallatin Valley: The Story of Chance Farm and Lessons from the Field, offers an inside look at the realities of building and sustaining a local farm. Josh will share the story of Chance Farm’s early beginnings, the challenges and risks of farming in our region, and the rewards of producing food for the local community.

In addition to the farm’s story, Josh will share practical, experience-based gardening insights drawn from professional farming. Attendees will learn foundational principles that can improve success, efficiency, and crop quality, along with small, approachable changes that can make gardening easier and more productive.
