Recipe Details

Perfect for: Date night, Galentine’s, or a fun Valentine’s dinner at home

Ingredients

  • 1 ball pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

  • ½ cup pizza sauce (classic red, roasted red pepper, or beet marinara for extra pink vibes)

  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella (or fresh mozzarella, torn)

  • Olive oil

  • Salt & pepper

Topping ideas (mix + match):

  • Pepperoni or salami

  • Sautéed mushrooms

  • Roasted red peppers

  • Caramelized onions

  • Spinach or arugula

  • Goat cheese or feta

  • Fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (or as hot as your oven comfortably goes). Place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.

  2. Shape the dough:
On a lightly floured surface, stretch the dough into a round. Gently shape the top into a heart by pressing in at the center and slightly pulling the bottom into a point. Don’t stress — rustic hearts are charming.

  3. Transfer & prep:
Carefully place dough on parchment paper. Brush edges lightly with olive oil and season with a pinch of salt.

  4. Add toppings:
Spread sauce evenly, leaving a small border. Add cheese and your favorite toppings.

  5. Bake:
Slide pizza (on parchment) onto hot stone or pan. Bake 10–14 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

  6. Finish:
Remove from oven, top with fresh basil or arugula, slice, and enjoy.

Optional Valentine Glow-Ups
